Graf Brothers

The world’s largest manufacturer
of Rift and Quartered lumber and flooring products

A key player in the American white oak industry. Based in South Shore, Kentucky, Graf Brothers is the global leader in quarter-sawn American white oak. Founded in 2003 by Greg and Dave Graf, the family business represents three generations of mastery in transforming Quercus Alba.

Their sourcing radius spans 450 miles across Appalachia. Logs are transformed into luxury flooring, furniture-grade lumber, and premium staves.

As a local hardwood supplier with a worldwide reach, the Graf Brothers name is synonymous with the hardwood lumber industry and is proud to have three generations to help build the name and reputation.

FORESTRY AND SOURCING

Sourced from the forests of Eastern North America

Our oaks are sourced from selectively harvested stands in the hardwood forests of Eastern North America (Appalachians, Ohio Valley, Missouri).

We ensure that every log comes from operations that strictly follow sustainable forestry practices as defined by local and state authorities.

LUMBER

A premium oak raw material

American white oak (Quercus alba) combines excellent mechanical strength, natural watertightness, and unique aromatic potential, making it the wood of choice for cooperage, fine furniture, and sustainable construction.

Responsibly harvested in the hardwood forests of the Eastern North America (Appalachians, Ohio Valley, Missouri), American white oak is a material of high ecological and heritage value.

SOLID AMERICAN WHITE OAK FLOORING

American white oak for solid flooring

American white oak is an emblematic species, renowned for its timeless beauty and exceptional strength.

Carved from a single piece of wood, Graf Brothers solid flooring reveals the full nobility of this rare material: refined grain, luminous color, and a naturally warm texture. Each board, whether quarter-sawn or rift-sawn, reveals the unique character of white oak and ensures outstanding long-term stability. This high-end flooring combines authenticity, durability, and natural elegance, creating interiors where wood truly becomes a way of life.

ENGINEERED OAK FLOORING

Dedicated to high-end interiors

Graf Brothers engineered flooring embodies the very best of American craftsmanship, dedicated to high-end interiors.

Each board bears the signature of a carefully selected, meticulously crafted, and expertly finished wood — shaped with uncompromising standards, in harmony with nature and the passing of time.

OAK STAVE

The largest single-site stave mill in the United States

Since 2009, Graf Brothers has been supplying premium American white oak stave to the wine, sherry, and spirits industries.

In 2023, Graf Brothers became the largest single-site stave mill in the United States. In 2024, the company joined the Charlois Group, strengthening its value chain through an integrated, sustainable, and circular model for sourcing and transforming American white oak.
